Shining & Dining!

The second annual Pancakes and Poetry celebration is coming up on February 15th at Home Sweet Harlem (1528 Amsterdam Avenue) from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Pancakes and Poetry celebrates one outstanding boy and girl poet-athlete from each elementary school in America SCORES NY. The 14 boys and girls participating were either the recipients of our “Individual Shine Awards” at the Community Poetry SLAM, or were chosen by their coaches due to the exemplary effort and leadership they have shown throughout the season. The event is a wonderful way to honor these students alongside their families, coaches, teachers and principals.

Why pancakes? Quite simply, why not!? Each student will enjoy some delicious breakfast for dinner and will perform their poem in the intimate setting at Chef Donna’s restaurant, Home Sweet Harlem.

This showcase of amazing young talent shines as an example of the awesome work America SCORES NY is doing and allows our poet-athletes to express themselves in a safe, supportive environment!
