Empowering Play: Celebrating National Girls and Women In Sports Day

A Day of Bliss, Confidence and Inspiration with PS 279 and PS 375

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Major R. Owens Health & Wellness Center in Brooklyn was the place to be! Students, Coaches, and Volunteers gathered to celebrate National Girls and Women In Sports Day (NGWSD) recognizing the power of sports shaping young girls with self-confidence, strength, and health.

The afternoon was filled with excitement, movement, and pure joy. When girls are in play, they strive for greatness.

The Power of Girls in Sports!

Coach Maya & Coach Charlyn hosted the event to share their soccer experience in skill building with Purpose and Pride. The event featured three dedicated zones to building the kids’ stamina in Shooting, Passing, and Dribbling. As the students rotated through each station, they embraced the challenge with concentration, motivation, and passion.

Why Celebrate NGWSD?

On National Girls and Women In Sports Day, we celebrate the power of young girls in sports, inspiring them to reach to the top. We acknowledge that their actions make a difference on and off the field. By supporting young girls to triumph ahead, we bring success and empower them to shape a better future for themselves and the communities.

Our time for fun!

Run, Play, Fun

Here’s to going beyond, building up our future where every girl can play hard without limits!
