A Fun Day with FactSet!
On Thursday, FactSet sent some wonderful employees to volunteer at PS MS 161 and learn more about what the poet-athletes do at SCORES!
The volunteers had the opportunity to sit down with this group of dedicated middle school students and their coaches, Mr. Previllon and Mr. Polo, to learn about their involvement with our financial literacy and social entrepreneurship program, One Hen. One Hen Academy,a program that America SCORES New York adopted from America SCORES Boston, has a curriculum that provides our students with real-world knowledge of loans and budgeting, allowing them to become more confident and independent members of their community.
The poet-athletes are currently in the process of selling their product to raise money to buy and donate food to the Church of the Annunciation, and were discussing ways to improve their sell days and organize their product in a more efficient way. The poet-athletes really enjoyed their visit from the FactSet volunteers, who not only chatted with them about their jobs, but offered advice about the importance of quality control and making sure their customers are happy.
Overall, it was a great day with our volunteers and poet-athletes, and we couldn't be more thankful to FactSet for making it happen!
