Fun at #summerSCORES Family Day!

Make sure to check out all of our photos from #summerSCORES Family Day on our Facebook album here! A huge thank you to Jamar Austin for capturing the day!

On Friday, August 10, we held our annual Family Day at PS 161 Pedro Albizu Campos field! This day provides our poet-athletes to invite their families and friends to the last day of Summer Program and lets them get a taste of what skills their children have been working on throughout the summer!

The day started off with some rousing speeches by Program Director Zach Gomes and Soccer Program Manager Chloe Wheeler, and then we were off to the races! Our poet-athletes competed in a variety of games, like a three-legged race, a water balloon toss, and Steal the Bacon, and kept cool with countless water battles!

After a delicious lunch provided by Home Sweet Harlem and refreshing smoothies from Fruces, our poet-athletes treated their families to poetry performances!

We ended the day with our awards ceremony, which included Commitment Awards for perfect attendance! It was a great way to end our best (and biggest!) Summer Program, and we can't wait for #fallSCORES!
